Hello and welcome!
I’m Rachel and this year I’ll be participating in Disney’s Cultural Exchange Program. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the CEP, that means I’ll be spending my entire summer working at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Since this summer is set to be so exciting, I thought I would try to document my travels by blogging about my experiences as a cast member. I guess that this will primarily be a way of keeping friends and family up to date with my activities, but I hope that I can also shed some light on my time at Disney for future CEP applicants and Disney-lovers. I hope to show the CEP for what it is, so that prospective applicants can get an honest account of what their experiences could be in America. As someone who likes to do a lot of research before making any big decisions, I’ll admit that I read a lot of blogs before deciding to apply. And what I came across was a lot of incredibly positive stories from past CEP participants, leaving me feeling a little sceptical. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that this summer will be incredible, but I’m pretty sure that the experience isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. I guess I’m a bit of a worrier, so I hope that by sharing some of my concerns as well as my excitement I can put others’ minds at rest.
I still can’t quite believe that this summer is actually happening, that come the 19th I’ll be boarding a flight and saying goodbye to my family for over 3 months. I’m so excited to be back in the parks and to immerse myself in everything Disney!
So subscribe to my posts to follow my experiences this summer and stay updated with all things Disney!
